Dispatch May 9: Honoring Moms Everywhere ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ๐Ÿ’

The video above is a little TBT from Dec. 30, 2020, when on a little road trip with my mom. We were driving back to Truckee from Stayton Oregon, where my mom lives and my hometown. My dad had recently passed away on Oct. 1, 2020 from lung cancer. My mom’s birthday is January 1st, and like hell was I going to let her spend it alone at home. It’s just one example of what we as “nurturers/moms” do. We come to the rescue.๐Ÿค—
ย
When digging through all my photos looking for this video clip, I was reminded of that time from mid 2020-mid 2021, which is when we learned my dad had cancer, to him dying, then figuring out what are we going to do about mom. Work life was going off, as the Real Estate market was on fire here in Lake Tahoe and Truckee!…thank you COVID(I guess๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ). I made multiple road trips to Oregon before, during and after my dad passed. I managed 2 speeding tickets on the “back roads” to Oregon, which totally sucked. We were dealing with distance learning with 3 kids. My husband Brad also lost his dad just a few months before my dad. Brad had a benign tumor removed just days after my dad’s funeral. We all got COVID, including my mom, while she was visiting us just after the above road trip footage. And on and on…
ย
Life was insanely overwhelming during that time with emotional ups(business was great!) and downs(FU Cancer and the Pandemic). But what do we do as moms/nuturers?….we THRIVE!
ย
I am MOM, hear me ROAR! ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿป. And with each roar and call to help, we keep adding to our insanely heavy tool belt of life lessons. And in being who we are, we love to share and pass on our lessons, because that is one of the many things we do best. โค๏ธ
ย
There are so many types of moms/nuturers out there to recognize and honor this coming Sunday for “Mother’s Day”.
The word MOM is a term of endearment.
The word NURTURER describes someone who provides food, protection, support, encouragement and training.
And IMO, those two words go hand in hand.
ย
So whomever or wherever your MOM person may be, send them some love, give a big hug, honor them and don’t forget to say your please’s and thank you’s…๐Ÿ˜‰.
ย
After all, moms know best.๐Ÿ’ž
